Liz
Clayton

Manager, Science Contracts Team,
NZAGRC

Liz’s role in the NZAGRC is managing the Contracts Team.

She has an extraordinarily talented team of people, who are working right across the scope of climate change to help translate some of the science needed into contracts, to deliver the work programmes and deliver for New Zealand.

Liz has been on a bit of a journey through government, working at MPI and MBIE and in the science delivery groups, then back to MPI where she lead some core funds through the Investment programmes directorate. She then established and managed the community funds team and then moved on to the acting role of managing the Climate Change team, who are the main stakeholders for NZAGRC.  A highlight for Liz in 2023 was completing the Escalator women in leadership programme through AWDT. An incredible journey of learning and growing.

Liz’s passion is supporting and growing our people, ‘because for climate to change we need people to change’ (apol. Chris H)
